Hard rock artists Shinedown and Halestorm Saving Abel and Burn Halo contemporary Christian rockers Needtobreathe and grunge-rockers Red and Framing Hanley will add some grit to the festival. And alternative rockers Barenaked Ladies Counting Crows and Wild Sweet range are also on tap. A popular 1990s alternative rock band Third Eye Blind was nearing the pinnacle of its success when it performed at Summer Celebration more than a decade ago. The group whose ’90s hits included “Semi-Charmed Life” and “Jumper” have not released a new album since 2003’s “ut of theVein” which was a commercial disappointment. The group reportedly is preparing to release a long-delayed new album this summer. Nathanson’s latest full-length album “Some Mad Hope” was released in 2007.

Nothing more nothing less. Granted this may sound pretentious I admit it and I apologize but I think that in this case the term "punk rock" is used as a blanket-statement to represent today’s heavier alternative-rock bands who have been "risen from the underground" by their dedicated secret fans. (For instance how many Green Day fans have heard the CD "1039 Smoothed-ut Slappy Hours" Alkaline Trio’s "Maybe I’ll Catch Fire" or even Blink’s "Cheshire Cat"?) No offense intended but there are more accurate examples of what punk rock actually means. In the TV spin-off the former singer with alternative rock band Garbage plays Catherine Weaver the boss of ZeiraCorp Technology. Weaver is in fact a terminator who has travelled back in time to ensure the development of the computers that bring about the end of humankind. Trying to prevent apocalypse are Sarah Connor and her son John who grows up to lead a human resistance movement fighting the robots. Weaver can assume any form and is seen morphing into a men’s urinal in the first episode of Season 2 which begins at 9pm on Virgin1 this Thursday ctober 23.
