“Due to budget constraints we rotate musical styles from year to year” Roberts says. “We have featured hip hop in the past and definitely will again but due to losing nearly $200K in funding we could not afford to do it all in one festival. [It's] Important to note that there is no World Reggae or Alternative Rock this year either. But aren’t jazz blues and gospel featured every year? And isn’t it a fact that last year the Hieroglyphics were the first hip-hop act ever to be featured at A&S during its eight-year tenure? I posed these follow-up questions to Roberts but didn’t receive a direct response which is better than a weasel-worded response I suppose. What Roberts did say however was that “We are not trying toalienate anyone – it is the opposite – we are trying to appeal to abroad cross section. ” Also Roberts added “for additional proof thatwe are not trying to alienate any age group – we also produced thehugely successful June 18 “Uptown Unveiled!” event with Kev Choiceheadlining (akland artist).

ne- they are one the top bands in the Alternative Rock Scene and Two- their second album (RIT!) has been a success since it was released on June 12th 2007. Not only does Paramore have catchy song lyrics and songs that make you want to dance around but also Paramore has style. The lead singer Hayley Williams has inspired the way teenage girls dress think act and most of all: style their hair. Hayley’s orange choppy and crazy hairstyle has teens all over the country copying her look. 3rd CD’s the charm for Shinedown

"So I hope that everybody likes the song and I’m very proud of it. "And now it appears that Shinedown may have a second major hit song on its hands with the song "The Sound of Madness. " The bracing rocker which hits home with a chorus that delivers a knock-out punch of melody has gone top five as both mainstream and alternative rock. The title song is actually more representative of the Shinedown sound than "Second Chance. " While the third CD has a couple of other ballads such as "If You nly Knew" and "Call Me" most of the third album features hard-hitting rockers such as "Cry for Help" and "Devour" that highlight Smith’s gravel-edged vocals and the group’s ability to pack strong hooks into songs. As "Second Chance" and "The Sound of Madness" enjoy heavy airplay Shinedown’s career is also getting a boost from being part of one of the summer’s big mainstream rock tours the Stimulate This! tour featuring headliner Staind as well as openers Chevelle and Halestorm. Smith is excited to be part of the tour.
